The 19th annual “Loot: MAD About Jewelry” sale and exhibition at New York's Museum of Arts and Design will be taking place next month. In an attempt to bring the world's emerging contemporary designers into the forefront of the jewelry industry, the event will be hosting 55 artists from 18 different countries, many of whom are making their exhibiting debut in New York City.
According to Loot 2019 co-chair, Marsy Mittlemann, “LOOT reflects the core of MAD’s mission to celebrate the creative process and connect audiences to contemporary art and design. It presents an extraordinary opportunity for artists and viewers to interact with one another and engage in conversations around the work."
The list of contemporary artists includes Japan-born and Massachusetts-raised Mariko Kusumoto, a known collaborator with Jean-Paul Gaultier. Selvaggia Armani of Italy, Taiwan's Heng Lee, and Scotland-based Wanshu Li will also be joining the roster of talented designers.
