The Hellenic Initiative is a charity auction that will contribute all proceedings to benefiting the economy of Greece, hopefully allowing for an expedited recovery. On Friday, the organization will be holding a live, silent auction that will feature a number of native Grecian jewelry designers at its sixth annual gala in New York City.
The designers have donated an immense amount of jewelry for the initiative. The list of donors include: Lalaounis, Nikos Koulis, Diane Kordas, Minas, Alexandra Koumba, Vanessa Geroulanos and Danelian’s Diamond Club. Last year's gala raised over $2 million to benefit the struggling Greek economy.
This year, not only have Greek jewelry designers contributed their works to the auction, but Shinola has also donated two timepieces, including a women’s watch and a men’s watch. Costume jewelry designer Madly Made for Patricia Field donated three Greek symbol-inspired pieces as well. The gala will take place at the New York Hilton Midtown.
