The jewelry industry's most well-known blog, Gem Gossip was started by Danielle Miele a decade ago, without any connections to jewelers at the time. That hasn't stopped Miele from launching a new platform that will give fellow jewelry enthusiasts a chance to achieve their goals. Last week, she launched an Instagram account called Jewelry Jobs that passes on work opportunities and job openings in the jewelry world.
“Doing something like this on Instagram, a platform that people are constantly looking at already (especially millennials who probably prefer to job hunt on Instagram), just made sense to me,” Miele said in a statement to National Jeweler. “I think it will open up employers to a whole new level of candidates and hopefully make the vacancies fill up quicker.”
The service was launched completely free of charge and the companies that fill their positions will automatically remind Jewelry Jobs, keeping the posts up to date.
