After placing third in the polls during his run for the Rhode Island governorship, former Alex and Ani CEO Giovanni Feroce had some time afterwards to reflect on the race. While he entered as a Republican candidate, he considered himself an environmentalist with a plan to legalize marijuana. Feroce is also a war veteran who self-funded his bid for governor in a campaign that he himself considered to be "unconventional."
The candidate had expressed frustration in an interview with JCK, saying that many Rhode Island voters were quick to judge him. “You get lumped in as a rich white Republican businessman," he said. "I hate to say it, but that is the reality. People don’t understand that I’m an Italian immigrant who served his country for 24 years and grew up in a blue-collar town and built a small business and then advanced to become CEO of Alex and Ani, which created thousands of jobs.”
Feroce did his best to maintain a positive attitude throughout his campaign while advocating for civil discourse. He confidently plans to eventually return to the political ring to throw his hat in once more.
