Nirav Modi’s former companies and intellectual properties have been sold off following the Chapter 11 bankruptcy case for Firestar Diamond Inc. and Fantasy Inc. The trustee of Firestar and Fantasy's Chapter 11, Richard Levin had said that he conducted sales of the inventory between Sept. 26 and Oct. 4 in New York.

One of the more renowned properties sold off was a web domain and trademark known for appearing in a song that mentions "diamonds." “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” was sold to a company named ABG Intermediate Holdings 2 LLC on Sept. 27 for $50,000 according to some filed court papers.

The phrase first appeared in the 1953 Marilyn Monroe film called “Gentleman Prefer Blondes.” She made “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” famous after singing a song with the same title, surrounded by suited men offering her all sorts of jewels and ornamentation.

According to Moody's, the buyer of the phrase, ABG Intermediate Holdings 2 LLC, conducts business as Authentic Brands Group. The company is based in New York and owns up to 30 brands including Marilyn Monroe, allowing them to use her image and likeness.
