Today marks the Christies auction which will see a collection of Rockafeller-owned jewelry sold to the highest bidder. All proceeds will go to charities the Rockafellers support, including Puppies Behind Bars and Girl Be Heard.

The auction page reveals a collection of stunning pieces, amongst them a sapphire, diamond and emerald "Sea and Shell" bracelet by Jean Schlumberger. The piece has appeared in an exhibit of the designer's best work as well as literature highlighting some of his greatest pieces, and has an estimated sale price of $70,000.00, although we expect it to go much higher.

Another stunning piece is the Tiffany Schlumberger aquamarine and diamond "Leaves and Flowers" bracelet.

This bracelet is expected to fetch in the area of $60,000.00.

Other items in the sale include pieces from Van Cleef and Arpels and Raymond Yard, who had a close relationship with John D. Rockafeller, Jr.. Yard advised him on various diamond purchases and supplied him with many stunning jewels.
