The Original Fortrove Designer
Jewelry Blog

We're cresting the big fashion and jewelry wave with two rapid fire events bringing all the bling and baubles. First, we admired the Met Gala celebrity chutzpah honoring. Now, we're drooling over all things Cannes.

The 2018 Cannes Film Festival began May 8, 2018 and will last for twelve days. The 71st year of the event on the French Riviera is notorious for jaw-dropping jewelry and glamorous gowns. Chopard, Cartier, and other houses are mainstays of the event, but the festival also brings with it celebrities in Boucheron.

It's tough for us to find Boucheron on other red carpets, but the French jewelry line is represented in its full splendor at Cannes, especially favored by Salma Hayek.

In 2017, Hayek wore this aquamarine, moonstone and diamond necklace from the Hiver Impérial High Jewelry collection.

This year, Lea Seydoux took a trendier and edgier approach, donning a very large, very sparkly ear cuff from Boucheron's Lierre de Paris line.

We adore the one shoulder, asymmetric gowned paired with the one statement earring.

And that's what Boucheron stands for: unique but classical designs. The House of Boucheron was founded in 1858. In 1893 it took it's place at 26 Place Vendome, said to be the "sunniest" spot on the square and favored because the sunlight made the diamonds in the shop window even more dazzling.

Their pieces never need help from the sun, though. They aren't overdesigned or gaudy. Pure class in every way, a Boucheron piece stands the test of time.

Fortrove offers a number of Boucheron pieces. Invest in a piece that will last you a lifetime!

The stunning SERPENT BOHÈME TOI ET MOI earrings weave through the ear, glimmering and snaking beauties both. Boucheron describes the Serpent Boheme collection as: "A jewelery collection dedicated to the iconic Boucheron serpent, protective spirit and symbol of eternity. Delicately sculpted and polished, gold enhances the brilliance of diamonds." Find them here.

The "Macaron" diamond necklace is an irreverent take on the delicious cookie, featuring a small "bite" taken out from its rounded side, a delectable 2.5 carat diamond sandwich. Find it here!

If you had to own one piece, which would it be? A serpent or a macaron? Let us know below!
