Close to 400 pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels archives and private collection went on display April 21, 2018 at Beijing's Today Art Museum.

Previously an exhibition in Paris in 2012, this collection offers insight into the Maison from 1910 on. The exhibit is said to be a moody, mysterious and misty affair, laid out in chronological order. Special displays encase the jewels, blending into the scenery, perhaps inspiring the effect of floating? We would love to see this modern exhibit up close.

Perhaps one of the stars of the show is the The Collaret Necklace, formerly owned by H.R.H. Princess Faiza of Egypt in 1929. The platinum, emerald and diamond necklace was previously stationed at the Kremlin Museums in Moscow in 2017.

Another iconic piece featured is the Zip Necklace, a modern feat in jewelry engineering introduced in 1950.
"When Elegance Meets Art" is clearly a fitting name for the presentation, and it will run through August 5, 2018.
