Avid observers of the royal family have most likely seen Meghan Markle saunter about while wearing various jewelry pieces, usually from a single designer based out of Los Angeles, California. Since she began her career as a jewelry designer 18 years ago, Adina Reyter's pieces have been adorned by many a celebrity. The list is near endless, but a few of the big names included on Reyter's list of endorsements are Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Lady Gaga, Emmy Rossum, Freida Pinto, Kate Mara, Lea Michele, Madonna, Abigail Spencer, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Julianne Hough, Kristen Bell, and of course, last but not least, the Duchess of Sussex herself, Meghan Markle.

“When I first started, there were a lot of big, chunky and heavy stones that were expensive,” said Reyter in an interview with Stylish. Her primary goal as a jewelry designer is not just to create stunning pieces for celebrity consumption, but to have a consistent clientele of empowered, hardworking women. Reyter used herself as an example of how to design her pieces, aiming for a lighter look and feel that can be worn day-to-day.

“I am somebody who likes fashion and likes design and I want pieces that work with my life. We’re busy as women. You get up, you either deal with your kids, go to work, go to school, meet people for dinner — our days are multidimensional and I wanted pieces that I knew could work with my life and move with me throughout my life,” Reyter continues.

Her big break came in a sequence of endorsements back in the early 2000s when Demi Moore wore one of her sterling silver necklaces. Aniston followed, adorning her medium circle necklace in 2002 on an episode of the TV series, Friends. She explained: “From Jennifer Aniston to Meghan Markle, these women are purchasing our pieces retail and wearing them the way they’re supposed to be worn. Even Rachel Green on Friends ran around all day similarly to how Meghan Markle is doing in her real life.”

Reyter's main goal as a designer is comfortability and everyday wearability. “I like to equate my jewelry to the perfect pair of jeans," she said. "As women, you want to get the perfect pair of jeans where you turn around, your tush looks great, and you feel good wearing them. Our jewelry should make you feel that good.”
